The detail, feature by feature
FPS measurement
This is the core difference. FPSDoctor records every session, keeps the average and the 1% lows, and lets you compare before and after. At EXM, measurement is part of the paid services. Without measurement, an optimization stays a promise.
Graphics driver panel
We publish what we touch: vertical sync, maximum performance power mode, shader cache, filtering. Every value is read and saved before being changed. EXM does not publicly document what it does with the driver panel.
Anti-cheat compatibility
FPSDoctor injects into no game and reads no game memory. FPS measurement goes through the same read-only channel as PresentMon, the one Windows exposes for it. That is why an anti-cheat has nothing to object to.
French
EXM's site is in English only. FPSDoctor is in French end to end, software included, and support answers in French. On a subject where you are changing system settings, understanding what you are switching on is not a detail.
Price
Two different models, and they do not promise the same thing. EXM is paid once, between 29.99 EUR and 49.99 EUR depending on the tier, for one PC: what you buy is what it does that day. BIOS
EXM says it tunes the BIOS on its top tier. FPSDoctor deliberately stops before that: it detects what is switched off, quantifies the cost, and guides you screen by screen. Writing into firmware from Windows is the one action on this list that cannot be undone.
Claimed scope
A hundred and fifty checkboxes is a catalogue, not help. FPSDoctor groups its own by effect, applies them together and undoes them together: you pick a result, not a line in a list. Each one stays reversible, explained, and measured on your own sessions.
Hands-on service
